Announcements

On the 8th day of September, God the Holy Spirit granted our brother in Christ, Bob, a blessed death in faith in his Redeemer. He now rests in the arms of Jesus and awaits the resurrection of the dead on the Last Day. We ask your prayers for Bob’s survivors, especially his daughter Aime, grandson and granddaughter. Pray that they might find comfort in the certain hope of everlasting life for all who die in the faith.

On Monday, 15 September a visitation with the family will be held at Augustana Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. The funeral will be at 12:00 p.m. The interment will take place at Catawba Cemetery, where Bob will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Margaret. No luncheon will be served afterwards.

We give thanks to God the Father, who created Bob, God the Son, who redeemed him by His blood, and God the Holy Spirit, who called him by the Gospel into the communion of the holy church and kept him in the true faith until he died. Blessed be his memory in our midst.

The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

What Makes Us Different?

What makes Lutheran Liturgical Divine Service different? In the Divine Service God is the one serving mankind. That may seem opposite from what you have heard. "Shouldn't we be serving Him?" Yes and no. In the Divine Service Christ serves us His forgiveness and faith through His word and Sacraments. Then we are fed to go and serve our neighbor. To serve your neighbor is to serve God.

All are welcome to come and here the word of God preached and proclaimed. You will hear the Law that convicts you of your sins and the Gospel which forgives by the act of Christ on the cross and in His rising again from the dead.
